Chauvin Arnoux F401 True RMS Clamp Meter
The Chauvin Arnoux F401 True RMS Clamp Meter is a basic clamp meter which is designed for use on most mains-connected installations. It can measure AC voltage (1000V), DC voltage (1400V), and AC current (1000A) as well as frequency, resistance, and temperature. Basic accuracy is just ±1% and measurements are taken via supplied test leads and the F401’s 48mm jaw clamp. It is also possible to carry out diode and continuity testing with this meter. True RMS measurement aids accuracy on non-linear wave forms and the True Inrush function captures current spikes during start-up phases for single and multiple motors.
Excellent ergonomics are a prominent feature of the Chauvin Arnoux F401 as it has been designed for one-handed use, even when the user is wearing thick protective gloves. For example, the operator dial is grooved for an easy grip and the interface works on a clear one-button, one-function basis. Results are displayed on the clear, backlit LCD screen which features data hold for when the screen is facing away from the user when taking readings. These features add together to form an extremely practical clamp meter.
The sturdy build of the Chauvin Arnoux F401 means it can withstand a fall of up to 2m and high ingress protection (IP54) makes it resistant to dust, thus safeguarding performance and safety for the long term. The meter is rated as Cat III 1000V and Cat IV 1000V so it is very safe for work on installations. It comes supplied with test leads, a thermocouple and a case whilst a three-year warranty provides peace of mind.
